Should I Work Locum Tenens?

For those not familiar with the term, “Locum Tenens” is a Latin phrase that means “to hold the place of, to substitute for,” or in layman’s terms: a temporary physician. The term has been around since the 1970s and refers to providing temporary physicians to fill short and long term gaps in physician coverage for almost every medical specialty. Most locum tenens assignments range from a few weeks to several months in length.
